Evaluating the Impact of a Learning Management System on Student Performance and Engagement

Abstract:

This research paper investigate the influence of implementing a learning management system LMS on student performance and engagement within an academic setting. The study utilizes quantitative methods, including standardized tests and self-report questionnres, to measure students' academic achievements and their level of interaction with digital educational resources before and after the introduction of the LMS.

A total of 300 undergraduate students from diverse majors were included in this investigation. Data collection was carried out through administering pre-tests and post-tests as well as conducting an online survey that sought to assess student satisfaction, usage frequency of the LMS features, and perceived impact on their learning experience.

The findings revealed a statistically significant improvement p 0.05 in academic performance metrics after the implementation of the LMS. Furthermore, students reported increased engagement with course materials and enhanced collaboration among peers through discussion forums within the platform. The data also indicated that higher usage of specific LMS features correlated positively with both better academic outcomes and greater satisfaction levels.

s suggest that learning management systems can be instrumental in enhancing student performance by providing a structured online environment for accessing educational resources, facilitating collaborative learning activities, and enabling personalized learning experiences through adaptive feedback mechanisms. The findings highlight the potential benefits of integrating technology in education to support improved academic achievement and engagement.
