Introducing the Evolution of the Rolex Submariner with Green

As we journey back in time and trace the lineage of iconic tool watches, it's intriguing to notice that Rolex, traditionally known for its conservative approach to innovation, has occasionally surprised us by introducing something out-of-the-ordinary. Case in point: the green edition of their classic Submariner model.

The green Rolex Submariners have been a testament to how this time-honored brand can bl conservatism with unexpected flr and creativity. Initially met with mixed reactions, these watches have since garnered loyal followers who appreciate its unique charm within the conservative design language of the Submariner family.

Two notablein the green lineage are the Kermit 16610LV from 2003 celebrating the watch's golden jubilee and the Hulk 116610LV, which made its debut in 2010.

The Green Heritage: The Rolex Submariner Kermit

Inaugurated to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Submariner in Baselworld 2003, this watch marked a significant milestone by introducing the green aluminum bezel as an emblematic feature – hence its nickname Kermit after Jim Henson's beloved character.

This model saw subtle yet pivotal updates to the classic Submariner design such as the Maxi dial with larger hour markers and hands, alongside various iterations that offered a range of shades from almost olive green to a brighter, more vivid hue.

The Kermit, however, was not without its changes over time – it eventually transitioned to running on Caliber 3135 movement.

A New Era: The Rolex Submariner Hulk

Making way in the landscape of green watches came the Hulk in 2010, which took a bold step forward with its vibrant shade that was reminiscent of the superhero's signature color scheme. This model also carried on the tradition of offering several iterations over the years.

The key differences between the Kermit and Hulk lie not only in their appearance but in their mechanical heart as well. The Hulk operates under Caliber 3135 movement, while the Kermit ran on this same movement for its initial iterations before transitioning to Caliber 3235, which offers an improved power reserve of up to 70 hours.
